I offer beginners and intermediate Pilates classes and personal tuition in South Manchester. Pilates is a great way to develop and strengthen your core muscles, realign your body and balance out muscle groups so as to prevent re-occurrence of an injury, as well as for reducing muscle or joint pain. It’s also a useful low impact exercise for toning and building strength.
I also offer one to one exercise sessions. During the one to one sessions, I can tailor make our private sessions to focus on specific areas such as weight management including nutritional advice; improved cardiovascular fitness; improved core strength with one to Pilates sessions, programmes to increase flexibility or to help with injury, chronic health conditions and pain.
I have worked in the health and fitness industry as an exercise specialist for the past 14 years, both for the NHS and for the private sector.
I gained my Sports Health Exercise and Nutrition BSc degree from Leeds University in 2002. I then went on to qualify as a cardiac rehabilitation exercise specialist working for the NHS. Since then, I have have studied and gained my clinical Pilates qualification levels 1, 2 and 3 with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute). Additionally I am a certified postural stability instructor, allowing me to specialise in the area of exercise and neurological conditions; and the prevention of falls as well as back pain management.Alexis x
